Kampen om Norge board game

All graphic material for the board game Kampen om Norge (The Battle of Norway) was sent off to production this week. The game itself is designed by Yngve Bækholt and myself, while I have supplied all illustrations and graphics for it.

Norges kriger got a whole spread devoted to the book in the tabloid VG earlier this week. Love that they made the main image so big (good thing I sent huge image files).

Norges kriger is being recommended in today’s Aftenposten by Ulf Andenæs. He praises the abundance of illustrations provided in the book, and its reader friendly format.

Norwegian Wars

The giant project Norges kriger (Norway’s Wars) was sent off to the printers at the beginning of this month. Eagerly awaiting the finished product, a 528 page mastodon of a book. Designed both cover and layout on this one, and also contributed an illustration for it.

A few books that I’ve worked on that have been released over the last few weeks.

Three books in the Mathilde series, illustrated by the brilliant Erik Ødegaard, are now available in book shops.

Bardommens TV-spill – fra Space Invaders til Doom has received quite a bit of media coverage, and had a release party with an exhibition showing spreads and photos from the book.

Norsk postpunk 1980-1985 – Fra hardcore til a-ha also just hit the shelves. Holy Toy played at the release party at John Dee.

Video Games from our Childhood

This book about classic video games from the era spanning from Space Invaders to Doom should soon be arriving from the printer. My recent book design projects also includes a documentary about Norwegian post punk music in the early 80′s.

Ad for children’s books

Just made this magazine advertisement today for three children’s books in a series about Mathilde, a little girl with a great imagination. The books are written by Einar A. Lund and illustrated by Erik Ødegaard, while I have designed the layout and collaborated with Erik on the cover design. They are due to be released by Vendetta forlag next month.

Also attended Visuelt recently. Really enjoyed the talk from Dino dos Santos at DSType. Many great competition winners. Always great to party with good colleagues of course.

The Battle of Jutland

Here is a recent book jacket I designed. The book title means The Battle of the North Sea, and refers to what is more commonly called the Battle of Jutland in English literature. The style is directly inspired by the magazine called The War Pictorial that was published during WWI. The book should be in the shops soon.
